122911 - SDE Big Update

Between the Holidays and rebuilding my computer I haven't had time till now to get recent stuff scanned and posted so I got a bunch to show today.

First some doodles of the demoness in a chibi version for more promotional things like facebook
















A couple doodles of the game's protagonist in and out of armor


















Some possible gun designs, was exploring an almost compact rail gun, first something normal looking but the alien armor kinda gave theme to how they should look.























Been working on some alien designs. So first heres a bit of size comparison from the protagonist.  We have the "hound" , the "S"tandard, and the Brute(nothing on him yet, but basically a mutated larger version of the standard.

















The "Hound" design, is basically a two legged, eyeless tracker with a strong sense of smell and hearing, that can bite, bash, or ram its opponent.


































Finally some sketches on the Standard alien, the main alien race behind the ship.
I developed them a bit, but its something like a giant reptile-pangolin man.  Though I kinda done away with the individual spike scales in favor of a band cause the modelers would probably kill me if they were there.

I think I got the look for the S Dragon design, which it helped to be working with the font of the rest of the title text to pin down the look























So he's got horns and these wispy tendrils that fit well with the rest of the text.

the arm blade kinda pops out and forward and back in and parallel to the arm like a katar.

Couple variations today
first I've been meaning to work on the "S" Dragon of the logo and I came up with some variation for his head. The first two are one's I've already played with.

































Next I've started working on some armor concepts, and I've started with some helmet designs
once one is picked or favored more, it can be easier to design the rest of the armor.

Another Idea on the S dragon, this one a bit more long and sleeker, its actually in a coiled posed.















I took elements from the various demoness designs and input and came up with something new that I think works. So first just a greyscale.




















Then what I thought was a nice color selection but I'm open to suggestions





















And she's to be posed for the title which I think this ode to a classic pin-up style works well

















lastly, I was playing with the title itself, so I took the base font that was suggested and then tweeked it up a bit.  It can be cleaned up more, this is just a quick rough on it with some variations.

Trying to work on the airship controls, I had originally thought of a more seated thing, but ships, sailboats, the tardis, all have it set up for being prone, guess which one gave me the rail idea.

Finalizing the details for the GravDrive. The GravDrive is what keeps some airships in the sky.
























Along with the GravDrive, there's the InertiaDrive. Something far rarer, which uses similar principles as the GravDrive, but this is design for propulsion.

Working designs for a a steampunk communicator for airships
I give you the ResCom or Resonating Communicator
The idea is a glass receiver picks up on the sounds, resonates it through a wire, a relay converts it to an electric signal, sends it to the other end, where it is converted back to resonate through the receiving wire and glass and made into sound.
